What it is

Soluble fiber dissolves in water to form a gel-like substance in the digestive tract. Unlike insoluble fiber (which adds bulk), soluble fiber slows the absorption of nutrients and regulates the rate at which material moves through the GI system. Common sources include psyllium husk, inulin, and beta-glucan — all of which have well-established roles in GI health and metabolic function.

Soluble fiber is also fermented by gut bacteria into short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which support the gut epithelium and contribute to the signaling systems that regulate appetite and transit.

Why it's in Anchor

People on GLP-1 therapy eat significantly less — which means their fiber intake drops alongside everything else. The recommended daily fiber intake for adults is 25–38g, but someone eating 40–60% less than usual may fall well short of that. Low fiber intake on a therapy that already alters GI transit creates the conditions for constipation, irregular motility, and microbiome disruption.

Supplemental soluble fiber bridges that gap. It doesn't compete with or duplicate the GLP-1 mechanism — it works in the digestive tract downstream of it, helping maintain a consistent GI environment regardless of how much food is coming through.

Fiber doesn't just support regularity — at 5g per dose, it also contributes to the satiety signal that peptide therapy amplifies. Less food, more support for the feeling of being appropriately full rather than uncomfortably empty.

The dose and why

5g is a meaningful supplemental dose — roughly 13–20% of the daily recommended intake in a single stick. It's enough to have a measurable effect on gastric transit and satiety without causing the bloating or gas that very high single doses (10g+) can produce, especially in people whose GI systems are already sensitive from peptide therapy.

What product it's in

Soluble Fiber is the third ingredient in GI Relief, working alongside Ginger Root Extract and Peppermint Leaf to address the GI side effects of peptide therapy from three complementary angles.
